We didn't end up leaving until almost noon due to Christopher's mom running late [she sort of had a valid excuse]. So Isaac only slept for oh, an hour the whole 4 hour trip. He screamed probably 2 of the hours and played quietly for an hour of the trip. Once we got there, he did really well until we go to find out right before dinner that he's probably got a bit of an issue going potty. So since Christopher's Mom and Aunt were at the grochery store we had them pick up some yummy prune stuff. Poor Isaac was not feeling well at all. The prunes worked so fast, haha. He was feeling better in no time. Every one played with him for a while and then we put him to bed. He fell asleep too fast, I knew at that point it was going to be a tough night. Eventually he was going to wake up and say no more. Man, was I right! Around 1am he started screaming and just wouldn't calm down, so I fed him and he screamed probably until almost 3am. At that point I was so worried about keeping Christopher's Grandparents up, certainly his Grandmother because she had to work early in the morning. Around 4am, Isaac started screaming again. He only screamed for about 30 minutes that time, but still. So in the morning I got him up fed him changed him and we played together for 2 hours! No being fussy at all! GG is what we are going to call her so that Isaac will call her that, has the closet doors in the T.V. room thats all mirror. Isaac loved them! He spent an hour at least standing against them playing with his reflection. On the way out there, at the time I thought it was a fluke, was he was taking the blanket and playing peekaboo with me. Then when he was playing with the mirror he was playing peekaboo with himself! He learned how to play peekaboo!! Then when GG got home from work, she said she heard Isaac crying but she fell back asleep right away and it didn't bother her. WOW. Made me feel better. Sort of. Well she was standing in the kitchen eating some yogurt and Isaac wanted some so bad so she gave him some. HE LOVED IT! After that we headed to a small boonie town called Parker to visit some friends/family of GG's and Christopher's Mom. It was an hour drive and Isaac slept the whole time! It was a beautiful drive out there. When we were there, Christopher's Mom had brought some Hawaiin rolls to serve with her Spinach dip and she had given Isaac a bite of the roll and again HE LOVED IT! I was a little iffy about it at first, worried that he would choke on it, but those rolls disolve faster than Isaac's dissolving baby treats haha. On the way back we stopped at Aunt Judy's place so she could see Isaac and he absolutely loved her fireplace. Haha. It was warm and was bright and flashy haha it was too cute. We decided not too earlier than that to leave that night instead of the next morning so that Isaac will sleep the whole trip. So we then went back to GG's house and packed up and left and guess what!! Isaac slept almost the whole time!!!

So for his firsts over the weekend:
1 - Peekaboo
2 - Out of state trip
3 - Tried real food, yogurt and Hawaiin rolls!

Now for all of Isaacs cool Christmas gifts!
From Me and Daddy:
~That cool walker thing that he can sit on and push around or walk behind it and walk around.
~Cardboard books! 5 Little Monkeys Jumpin On The Bed and some Dr. Suesse ones!
~ This really cool sports ball set, it has a plastic basketball, soccer ball, football, and baseball. The base ball when shaken makes noises.
~His first set of blocks! They come in a little bucket thing and he can figure out the shapes fit into slots [I know hes still young but who knows].
~Stacking cubes
~This wierd other toy that I saw my friend Lori's kids having you push on the top of it and I guess it blows air into it and little balls bounce around.
From my Parents:
~This cool train that has a Giraffe, Elephant, and a monkey with it and when you press the smoke stack it sings songs and if its set right it will actually move across the floor.
~Clothes of course
~This Elmo/Cookie monster ball that when you press the button they talk/giggle and the ball vibrates and bounces around.
~A toy guitar!
~From Chris's family: [I don't remember who gave him what]
~A rocking cow!
~A fire engine that he can sit on and play with and cruise around
~clothes
~a telephone
~This cd player looking thing that plays songs
~Gramma Lori bought him some dissolvable treats

I think there was more. But I honestly don't remember.

So, I think Isaac is going to start crawling soon. He's ready. Just need to stop getting so mad when he's in the crawling position.

First Christmas

This lil' man made bank for his first Christmas. Doesn't say "Baba" much, but he's getting the hang of "Dada" pretty well. There are some other mixes he is doing, one sounds like he is saying "Yeah" and the others, I don't even know. Baby babble is too cute.

Tonight starts off Isaac's first Christmas, with us heading over to my parent's house for dinner and opening some gifts over there. Then tomorrow morning, he gets to open gifts from Mommy and Daddy, then it is off to Christopher's parent's house for gift opening and dinner - which my parents are joining too.

I hope Isaac has a good time, with him teething - I believe - again he's been super grumpy.

He also has figured out how to turn over in his sleep and the last week has been waking up to him screaming because he has woken up finding himself on his tummy. I have no idea what I can do to prevent it. It was too cute. So I bought it and took it home for Isaac because I knew he likes Elmo. Well he will stand at the coffee table and dances with it and laughs too! He loves that thing. I on the other hand, after about 3 days now am getting tired of it. How long until Christmas is over and I can pack it away? Sheesh. Haha, just kidding... Maybe.

He's starting to cruise to the right now, only rarely though. He's been experimenting with it too, like tonight he was going in circles, to the couch - to the table - to the couch - to the table. He was so amused by it. Then he decided to go to the laundry basket then to the table - laundry basket - table.

I have been trying to get him to have more fun on his tummy or hands and knees. He's getting more tolerant. Last night I put him on his tummy and he crawled... erh... well scooted backwards about 7 feet before he got mad. He played with some toys along the way. Then I did it again today, he didn't get too far that time.

Another cold???

Man this kid is going to be like me, where he has to have a ton of colds during the cold season. Makes me just a little irritated. He only gets a runny/stuffy nose and some sneezing. No fever or anything, but still. He gets so grouchy!

He's been really working hard on his cruising. He's getting much, much better at it.

It's so funny how he's been concentrating so much on walking that he hasn't done much talking. No "bababa, gagaga, mamama, dadada" at all lately. Then tonight he went "yah". It was too cute for words.

He's also starting to pretend to share. If that makes any sense. I think he knows we won't eat his food or drink out of his bottle but he will stick his hand out and look at you like "here, have some". He did that twice today. Once this morning when I was feeding him, he pretty much put the bottle in my face and gave me that look, so I took it and pretended to drink from it, he was so pleased. He just went right back to chewing on the nipple part after that. Then at dinner, I have been giving him what's called a Biter Biscuit from Gerber, he absolutely loves those things, well right after he started eating it he looked at me with that look again and tried handing me his cookie [that's what we decided to call it]. So then Christopher asked if he could have some and Isaac literally looked at him and laughed. I wish I had my camera for that one.

His first...

Isaac got to go to his first parade this morning, he had so much fun!!! He loved the horses and the bands and nothing scared him! It was too cute seeing him sit on a blanket on the side of the road all bundled up watching everything go by!

His aunt Missy took him to a birthday party today too, from what I heard he had a good time playing with a little girl who is about a week and a half younger.

He's making progress on his sleeping, he didn't get to nap much today because of everything that was going on, but, when it was time to go to bed for the night, he went to sleep with absolutely no fussing at all! I fed him, put him in his crib, turned on the mobile and I am going to assume he was already asleep or very close to it by then. He had just turned his head and slept. Makes a long tiring day better at the end when you don't have to fight him to sleep. <3

Keeps on going

I am so amazed at how determined Isaac is to walk, today he decided that going around the coffee table is not for him, he wants to use different items, like the dinner tray I'm using for an end table, the recliner, the high chair, the rocking foot stool, and his bouncer. So I thought, hey, wouldn't he like it if I made a little circle out of these so he can try most of it. So he would go from the coffee table, to the couch to the rocking foot stool to the high chair and then back to the coffee table. Nope not enough, he skipped the stool the next time around and went straight for the dinner tray to where he tried to pull him self on top of it, and since its not that sturdy he almost knocked everything off of it, which would have included a pair of scissors a soda and a bunch of crafting stuff. Heart attack on a plate please! He then gets bored with that and moves on to the recliner then to the bouncer where he had a blast making it move back and forth, even after he has almost fell a few times.
He did though go to bed with out much of a fuss, that makes me happy.

Pulling Up

Well he suceeded in the long struggle to learning how to pull himself up from sitting to standing by holding onto the coffee table, and he didn't hurt himself either! In fact he managed to do it three times before deciding his legs were too tired to do it again. He did hurt himself though, silly kid crouched down and let go of the table thinking that he could balance himself. He didn't even bump his head that hard because I caught him before the real impact came, but it did scare him. Did it scare him enough to not do it again ten seconds later, nope.

He's getting the hang of cruising. He takes it really slow, but, he can get almost all the way around the coffee table now, I think the only reason he doesn't get all the way around is because he gets bored since he goes so slow. Haha.

We bought him a real walker yesterday that he can move around himself in, he figured out how to push himself backwards but won't go forward... Just like his crawling. Gggrrr. Silly kid.
We though that maybe being on the carpet was making it too hard for him so we put it in the kitchen and took his socks off so he can try it that way, nope still wanted to go backwards. I know he will figure it out eventually, hes a smart kid and I know he will love to chase the kitty around in that thing.

He still seems to not like this whole getting put into the crib to just fall asleep thing, he just cries and cries and cries. There are still a very few occasional times when he will get mad but not for long, but like right now I have to go console him because hes screaming uncontrollably. Silly stubborn kid, makes me sad.

Progress

Isaac is doing pretty good with the change of his sleeping patterns. We've been having him get up in the morning around 8am, take a nap at 10am then another around 3pm then its to bed around 8pm. Usually his second nap and bedtime are a little earlier though, which is okay, as long as he gets the idea that its his bedtime/naptime.

He's been back and forth on the crying a lot though, some times he will cry for a very long time, like last night, for 2 hours, or he won't cry at all. But as the days go by most of the time his crying is getting shorter.

Other than that he's been doing good with his practicing to walk, doing a lot of squats and hes starting to cruise a little better. He went from one corner to the opposite corner. No more swing.

Midnight I feed him. Put him in his swing he cries and tried to escape so I put him in his crib, he cried for 2 hours. It was the hardest thing for both of us, but it was time. He fell asleep. Woke up arouned 5am, cried for about oh 3o mins? Went back to sleep! He took two naps today with a short amount of crying, and he went to bed around 830 with a limited amount of crying again. Not too bad. I just hate hearing him cry.

But alas, he is in his crib safely at night and I still am not sleeping well. *sigh*

More and more talking

Wow, I didn't realize its been that long since I've written on here. Things are BUSY.

Any ways, Isaac is now babbling his new words on a daily basis now. But he has chosen a favorite. "babababa" Yep, no "mama" and no "dada". I mean he does slip it out occasionally but "baba" seems to be his favorite. He's also getting some other wierd things in there that I have no idea what they are. Maybe we've been letting him watch too much anime with us and he's trying to speak Japanese. That would be wonderful! I was already planning on him learning at least a little. =)

He's slowly starting to get back to sleeping more at night, he'll have one night where he will wake up only twice and its usually waaaay after midnight, then he will go back to waking up three or four times for a few nights. It's driving me crazy, but there really isn't anything I can do about it.

What's even more frustrating is the fact that he's getting so heavy for that swing that it doesn't properly, and he refuses to go into the crib again. I am going to pull out the bassinet today and see maybe he will sleep in that. I have a feeling that part of the issue is putting him down inthe crib wakes him up from that 'falling' feeling and its a wide open space. He seems to like a more closed in and cramped sleeping space. So with the bassinet not so low, and it being a lot smaller, maybe he will accept that because that swings gotta go!

He's getting so good at holding himself up now, he's practicing cruising and squats. It's too cute. He's very proud of himself... Until he falls. He was getting too excited yesterday while watching Christopher playing a video game that he fell forward onto the coffee table hit his cheek not once but twice as he fell. Poor kids got a bruise now.

Wonderful Wakeup Call

So this morning as I am waking up bright and early I hear Isaac in his bedroom saying babababa lalalala and dadadada.

He's mixing them up too like he will go ba la da !!!!

I'm so happy its too cute!

OH MY GOSH!

With Isaac and both Mommy and Daddy being sick this week its been intense. Isaac has been waking up way too much and is back to refusing to sleep in the crib. Hey at least it lasted a few days. I think once things settle down he will be more willing.

I got a big shocker today! For the last oh 2 weeks or so when Isaac is playing he's been saying "MMmmmmm, Mmmmm" a lot. So while Christopher wasn't around I would keep saying to Isaac when he does that 'MAMAMAMAMA' and you know what! IT WORKED! He actually said "MAMAMAMAMAMA" this evening! He never said it again, but it was a start and I was so happy! I can tell by Christophers tone of voice over the phone he was a little saddened that he wasn't there and that Isaac didn't say "DADADADADA" first. haha.

Isaac had a play date today and it makes me feel better knowing he likes to play and play fairly with others, he let little Lexi play and chew on all his toys too. No crying or anything. He was very interested in her hair though, since she has a lot more than he does. It was too cute. I will have to make sure and take pictures next time!

ITS A MIRACLE!!

So me and Christopher decided last night that Isaac is too big for his swing and that its time to get him to sleep in his crib. No more excuses. So we figured to start him off with his first nap in the morning, if he doesn't sleep - he doesn't sleep. Eventually he will crash and sleep where ever we put him.

So just about half an hour ago I'm feeding him and he's getting sleepy, so I put him in the crib, turn the mobile on and walk away. He plays for a while - doing his normal baby babbel, he gets upset. I go in there turn the mobile back on and walk away again. He's still babbling sort of sounding upset. I go in to use the restroom, I hear no crying. I come out and he's quiet. I talk to Christopher for a minute, still silence back there. Huh? Maybe he hasn't gotten upset yet. I sneak back there, and he's out!

That was too easy. I'm a little eerie about it. How long is he going to sleep? 5 minutes? Nope its past that already. 10 minutes? Past that too. Maybe he's ready.

HURRAY!!!

Theres teeth!

So over the weekend two teeth broke through Isaac's gums, poor kid, no wonder he's been so grouchy! So as the days go by his toothless smile is becoming a smile with two teeth in it, and more on the way! It's so exciting!

He's still reluctant to crawl, but more than willing to walk. He's getting so good at holding himself up too, he uses my foot stool, the coffee table, the couch, the recliner, and his high chair. He tries really hard to pull himself up on his own but still needs more arm strength and balance.

He's taking baths like a big boy now and he enjoys it more and more every day. He collects toys in there now too, he's got his two bath ducks, a plastic toy bowl, and a teething ring. Plus he has to play with his little water pitcher too. He loves to splash water all over and he loves it when Felix comes in to watch. He loves talking to the water as it drains out, its too cute.

His doctors appointment was on monday. He is just a little short of 20 lbs, which puts him in the 75th percentile. He was 25 inches long which is a little short and puts him in the 10th percentile. This is where it gets funny! His head circumfrence was in the 95th percecntile [In don't remember the size], he's got a big ole' head! He got his first part of his flu shot, so that makes me happy!

With everything thats been going on his sleeping patterns have been all off, so not only has he been grouchy a lot but so have I. I got so used to him sleeping through the night.

He's now 6 months old and is at the point now where he's learning something new everyday. It's so exciting! He's getting started on the 2nd stage baby foods and the doctor said it was okay for him to chew on the toast and big crackers. He loves it all!

Update week... I don't remember right now >.<

I am so sorry for the late update, things are so hectic right now. If you want to know more you can go to www.thedaytheblogdied.blogspot.com for all the details.

Any ways, Isaac's first tooth finally broke through last night, poor kid has been such a trooper with this, he's got 4 coming in. One broke through and theres still 3 little white bumps around it. So hopefully with in the next few days the worse of it will be over.

He's still not very keen on crawling though he is trying a little every day. He wants to walk and thats final.

Other then that, he's been a good kid, we took a trip to Burbank today and he behaved himself. He got a little fussy once but thanks to Katie we got him calmed down before I had to think about pulling over.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://experiencesbeingamom.blogspot.com/2007/10/update-week-i-dont-remember-right-now.html' title='Update week... Well, he was still grouchy. He is going back to sleeping almost all night, the back and forth thing is stressful, but one day I know he will do it completely.
Sunday was of course at my parents house, and he was relatively good. But was just a bit difficult to get to bed that night, but slept almost all night again.
Monday was the hard one, usually my Mom comes over to babysit while I go clean and run errands then me and him spend the rest of the day together, with me getting super sick the night before his daddy stayed home, then there was an emergency and we ended up packing him and his stuff up and he spent the rest of the day with Christopher's Mom.

So now I am sitting here waiting for him to fall asleep, but honestly it doesn't sound like he's going to. He's playing in his swing, but he's so tired and grouchy.
*sigh* I will never begin to understand that child.

While playing with him tonight I put him down for some tummy time and he actually crawled... backwards. just once. Then got so mad that his face turned bright red.
He wants to walk, thats it - end of story. All he needs is the balance and hes got it.

*edit*
Okay, so he refused to go to bed. He's now sitting next to me in his bouncer watching me type on the computer. :)

Week 23: Thurs - Fri

Still having issues figuring out how to get Isaac to sleep in his crib. I was given a bunch of advice on cafemom.com about what I should do and I really don't think any of it is going to work. It's very frustrating.

I think a tooth is about to come through on Isaac's gums. He's been super grouchy the last few days, and I mean the 'I'm in pain' cry from him. Poor guy.

So we had some firsts the last few days, not only did he not give a complete stranger babysitter a hard time but he took a nap in a friends arms at a party! With lots of people! Once he gets so tired that he can't stay up any more, he will fall asleep. I wonder if that is what I have to do to get him to sleep in his crib. Make him just so tired that he doesn't care where he sleeps.

Week 23, Tues & Wed

So Monday night I tried to move him from his swing to his crib while he was asleep. He lasted about 10 minutes before he realized what I had done and got very mad. I had to, of course, put him back in his swing. Tuesday night I didn't even bother trying because he was having issues sleeping as it was. But tonight I am going to try again.

He is adament on starting to walk. He has spent the last few days holding on to anything he can and trying his hardest to walk. I can't believe at how good he's getting too. Just this evening he was holding on to my knees and taking steps on his own. He's been getting gutsy and trying to only support himself with one hand, but that just causes him to fall.

It's amazing at how active this little guy can be, he's going to be hell on wheels once he is walking and crawling.

Speaking of crawling, he isn't yet, but he's getting better by the day just like his walking. He doesn't like it as much as being on his feet though, so I don't expect him to be crawling any time soon. I think he spends a whole 10 minutes a day on his tummy and most of the time he's mad and wanting to get up.

Week 23 Sat-Mon

This weekend was another busy one so Isaac got completely worn out, and even though he was completely worn out it took me a lot of hard work to get him to sleep Sunday night.

Good news is that he's starting to fall asleep in places I never thought he would. We were at a friends house both Friday and Saturday and he took some nice naps over there, and then Sunday he fell asleep in my Mom's arms at the grochery store!!!! That was the big shocker!

Starting tonight, I need to start getting him used to sleeping in the crib again, hopefully it won't be too hard like last time. I just need to let him fall asleep in his swing first then once he is out cold put him in the crib. He's gotten back to the point of only waking up once at night, and its usually after 6am, and I can usually get him to go back to sleep as long as its before 7am. So I am waiting for him to wake more once I start putting him in the crib, but hopefully the transition won't be too stressful on him and he will get back into sleeping through the night.

Just a few more weeks and he will be 6 months old. Which means I can start introducing Isaac to fruits and juices. That is going to be exciting!!!

Week 22 Thrs-Fri

Isaac is still waking up multiple times during the night. He is so wierd with his schedule, it drives me nuts! I also still can't get him to sleep in the crib which is also starting to drive me up the wall, his swing is now making odd noises at night and I can hear it over the baby monitor and I'm just waiting for it to break one night or something. Then I'll really be screwed.

Other wise the last few days he's been pretty good. He's working on crawling soon, he really wants to walk but I think he finally figured out that he can't do that yet. Though he tries. He spends so much time in his walker and in his bouncer that his leg muscles are getting a nice work out and are working quite well, it's his balance that is the problem and for the fact that all of a sudden he wants to walk on his toes. Silly kid.

I don't remember if I mentioned this or not yet, but I tried feeding him the strained chicken the other day. He didn't like it, which I don't blame him the stuff didn't even smell like chicken, it smelled like bad tuna. He ended up gagging he hated it so much. I'm going to keep trying though, every few days, try a little again. Maybe eventually he will get used to the taste. A few more weeks and I can start giving him fruit. That will be fun! I actually can't wait, because fruits are soooo much better than vegis!! :)

He has mastered sitting up, and he's now testing his boundries with it: How far can he pull his legs out, how far can he reachc forward, how far can he twist this way or that. It's so fun to watch. He gets into this deep concentration mode and tries so hard. He is also keeping practice up with his vowel sounds and his rasperries, oh, and his screaming. Can't forget the ear piercing screams that come out of that child. He's also trying to get more consonant sounds out. I know when he's actually upset because when he cries he makes this 'nanana' sound, and when he's doing his rasperries sometimes a ma, or ba will come out. It shocks him, he's probably wondering how the heck to make those sounds again! TOO CUTE!

He loves watching Felix, too bad that cat doesn't want much to do with him now. Felix has realized that the mini human has the grip of death if he gets too close or that walking underneath his bouncer means a tail being stepped on, but that will be one thing I will have to make sure and teach Isaac at the earliest age if he wants the kitty to let him pet him or what not, is to be nice. I can see it now, Isaac chasing around a terrified cat.

We will actually have to start buying him clothes now, all the cute onsies that every one bought us for the baby showers has been grown out of. He's just turned five months old and is already growing out of his nine month old clothes. What a shame. They were all too cute on him!

Well, he's had enough in his bouncer so I better go get him.

Week 22, Sat-Wed

Okay, so I'm trying something new again this week, I'm getting frustrated with the layout of my weekly blog, and now that Isaac is getting older and he's learning new things every day, I might just go ahead and do more then one post.

So far this week Isaac has gone back to waking up multiple times a night, at this point I'm like a complete zombie when he wakes me up so I don't really remember much. I get up, feed him, then put him back to bed, then I go back to bed. The only thing that frustrates me the most is I still can't get him to go to sleep in his crib. It's always right back into the swing. He's growing out of the swing so it's getting kind of hard to get him in and out of it. But he just loves it still. So I need to find a way to get him to fall asleep in his crib or stay asleep when I put him in his crib.

He's been practicing his crawling, he's getting better; but he still gets upset pretty fast. I'm going to assume that it's because he can't get moving. He also has been practicing rasperries. He's so proud of himself for this one, but that's because he can make a lot of noise with it. Isaac is also getting the hang of banging things, yeah you want to talk about a lot of noise. His Grandma Lori bought him these plastic giant keys for him at one of the baby showers, and I just a few days ago realized that we had them in there [his room is a complete disaster, not only does he have too much stuff, but I can't keep it organized]. Well, I had given him one of the keys to play with while he was in his high chair, and he came to realize that banging the key on the plastic tray made a lot of noise. So he kept doing it over and over and over. In all honesty I can be pretty patient with noises like that, certainly since he's only five months old and it would be completely worthless to discipline him any ways. It will give me good practice for when he's older, to space out all the annoying sounds he will make.

Oh well, I don't mind much. It might be other people that will go crazy. :)
Must go feed Isaac.

Week 21

Frustrations:
-Saturday - He got really fussy while at a friends house so we had to leave earlier than we wanted to.
-Sunday - He refused to take a nap while at my parents house, so again, he got really fussy.
-Monday - He wasn't feeling well, wouldn't let my Mom watch him while I did school work, so my Mom ended up leaving early. He refused to sleep though. He spit up a lot. I am assuming it's just a tummy ache, or teething. He also didn't want to eat much either, and didn't even finish his bedtime bottle. Very abnormal. Poor kid.
-Tuesday - Surprisingly... Nothing to report!!!!
-Wednesday - Again, nothing to report other then a bit of a late bedtime.
-Thursday - Nothing to report.
-Friday - It was the first day of the convention me and Christopher work for and Isaac got completely overwhelmed, he didn't want to nap and he didn't want to sleep in the hotel so I had to take him home.
Accomplishments
-Saturday - He got to hang out outside for a few hours with us while we ran the ani-magic meeting, he has so much fun being around people, it's too cute.
-Sunday - No issues putting him to bed, he was out by the time we left my parent's house, then woke up a little, fell back asleep on the way home, woke up when I took him in, then went right back to sleep.. Unfortunately in his swing and not his crib. I could really use some good advice about how to get him to sleep in his crib with out the tantrums. He's one of those babies that WILL NOT cry himself to sleep.
-Monday - He did take a nice long nap after his bath and dinner, and enjoyed some time in his bouncer before going to bed. Seemed to feel better after his nap. Bedtime was a sinch too, thats what I KNOW he's not feeling well.
-Tuesday - He was very good today. Went and ran some errands and he had fun.
-Wednesday - He slept all night! He went to bed at around 9PM the night before and didn't wake up until 730AM. He's slept a lot today but was a good boy.
-Thursday - 5 Months old!!! He's getting so big... I know, I know I said that last week too. :P Second night in a row he slept all night. It would be nice for him to start getting into this habit. He slept a lot too, hope he's not getting sick.
-Friday - He seemed to have a lot of fun at the convention, got lots and lots of people telling him he's too cute and giving him a whole bunch of attention. He had fun.

The last two weeks he has been practicing sitting up by himself. He has accomplished this finally this week, he can sit by himself for more than two seconds. In fact, he can easily sit there for quite a while.

Another one that he's been working on is standing, yep he can already hold himself up by leaning on a chair or couch. Not for long though, his balance is just not up to par yet. It's still surprising though. I've never seen a baby so determined to walk so soon. I guess crawling just isn't for him, though I still give him tummy time, he still HATES it.

All in all it was a rollercoaster week for us. A lot of stress and a lot of fun. There were nights when he didn't want to sleep and nights when that is all he wanted to do is sleep. I'm going to assume that until he gets older, that is how it's going to be. So when I can sleep, I WILL SLEEP!

Week 20

Wow, he's 20 weeks old now! I just can't believe that next week he will be 5 months old!

Frustrations:
-Saturday - We had really bad issues getting Isaac to sleep for the night, and he woke up a lot again. I don't think it's the crib, what if it's because Daddy's home all weekend and his schedule is off?
-Sunday - He had a HUGE tantrum with my parents while me and Christopher stepped out, and it was really hard, again, to get him to sleep. I will have to start all over again with the crib though.
-Monday - Had a hard time getting him to sleep again, I wonder what the deal is all of a sudden? He just had a bad night I guess, he woke up quite a few times, again.
-Tuesday - He's getting into a habit of going to bed later, I don't know if it's because he takes a longer nap in the afternoons or he's just having that hard of a time falling asleep. He's still in his swing and refuses to sleep in his crib.
-Wednesday - It was super hard getting him to sleep, had to feed him 9 ounces of formula with in about an hour to get him to sleep.
-Thursday - Its very rare now a days to have Isaac throw a fit in the car on the way somewhere, but this time he screamed and flailed like there was no tomorrow. I felt really bad, but he was hungry and SUPER tired.
-Friday - It's been a good day!

Accomplishments -
-Saturday - We did a lot of shopping and he was pretty well behaved most of the time. He sat in his stroller and hung out. We also went out to dinner with my parents and he was so good!
-Sunday - He did sleep better, though. Only woke up twice in the early part of the night, then slept the rest of the night. He is starting to just looooove animals! He just laughs and giggles so much when he see's one moving around! I wonder how he's going to react with my Grandmothers little rat-dog.
-Monday - He started eating Butternut Squash and doesn't seem to be allergic. Daddy bought him a Bouncer over the weekend and he absolutely loves it, spent most of the day in it. It was too cute when he bounced in it so much he fell asleep in it!!! He wore himself out. *awe* He also had both peas and carrots for dinner and he was so happy that he got two foods instead of just one!
-Tuesday - Me and my Mom took Isaac to his first Library sale. He had so much fun seeing all these people, playing with the books, and the other kids around him. I got him some cool home schooling books [not planning on homeschooling him, but it's a good way to help him learn things better!]. His third day in a row with a poopy diaper, he may not be happy about it, and the same thing with my nose - but I am glad that the solid foods are getting his system working a little faster. For dinner he again got two foods, he loves the taste difference, it's so cute seeing the look of not necissarily shock but of recognition maybe of the different tastes because I go one spoonful of one food, then the other food - back and forth until its gone. This time he got Sweet Potatoes and Peas. YUMMY! Even tOnce hough he slept in his swing again, I didn't even have to turn it on, so maybe this is a step up so that I can eventually get him into his crin with out a fuss.
-Wednesday - Woke up happy, ate, played, then went back to sleep. What a strange kid, some days he likes to be awake all day, some days he likes to sleep all day. Wish I had that luxury! Another day of falling asleep in his bouncer, this time Christopher got to witness it too and got a kick out of it. He has now advanced to 6 ounces of formula right before bed, and 4 ounces during the day and not spitting up much. He also can last longer than 1 1/2 hours now. Sometimes its 2 or 3 but sometimes its 1. I will never try to understand this child's eating habits. Once I got him to sleep I was able to put him in his crib with no fuss and he slept for quite a few hours, once he woke up to be fed he wouldn't go back in his crib but he did go back to sleep and slept for a long time again.
-Thursday - 4 times he fell asleep in his bouncer, its amazing. He was in pretty much a good mood, very happy and not very long naps. A while back my parents had bought Isaac this truck thing thats a walker, but one of those that stays in place and he can go around in circles. Well we knew it could bounce a little because when we would put Isaac in it [on rare occasions due to the fact he's too small for it] we would bounce it for him, well now he knows how to do it himself! Me and my Mom were laughing so hard! It was too cute!
-Friday - 20 WEEKS OLD!!! It's amazing to see how much he's grown in such a little amount of time! Any ways, I decided to go through a big tub of toys that I had just sitting in his room [most of them were for CC when I was planning on babysitting her, but that didn't work out so it was time to give them back to Katie]. So I was going through them, while my Mom kept an eye on Isaac and while Isaac kept an eye on me. The look of excitement on his face when I started pulling out all these toys! I found some cute ones for him, that he was just so excited about that my Mom made sure he got the chance to play with all of them.

He has shown some interest in a sippy cup but not every day. So I made sure and bought him a couple sippy's and keep one filled with filtered water at all time, just in case he decides to take a drink. My little boy is getting big so fast, sometimes I just don't know what to do!

He has gotten a big interest in the rolling rattle things on his walker and bouncer, I have no idea what that's about, but, it's too cute for words. He concentrates so much on them and rolls its one way, then the other.

Another thing he has been really interested in this week is the animals, I don't know if its for the fact that he can see so much better now, or what, but any time he see's Felix, or my Mom's dog Spunky Isaac just can't help but bounce, squal, or laugh with complete delight. It's too cute until my Mom's dog won't stop barking at the noize that little human made haha. He's still not too sure with Patches since he's such a big dog, but he still smiles. At this point we are just worried because Spunky can have a nasty temper, I remember those nights close to that dumb dogs bed time where he'd try to eat any one alive who got too close to him. A major watch out for when Isaac is mobile.

Week 19

Frustrations:
Sat - Isaac went back to waking up every two hours, it was a bad night and I was getting super frustrated.
Sun - So it improved to three hours this time around, I think maybe its because he's sleeping in his crib? He also for some reason, refuses... Just absolutely refuses to take a long normal nap at my parent's house, so what happens? He gets fussy!
Mon - Since he didn't sleep much over the weekend, I was going to assume he would sleep really good... Nope. This time he woke up twice with a two hour sleep period, then he slept the rest of the night once I put him in his swing. Just proves right there that my assumption of his erratic sleeping patterns are caused by him sleeping in his crib now being the culprit. Makes me sad.
Tue - Nothing to report :)
Wed - Nothing to report :)
Thu - Nothing to report :)
Fri - Disgusting, absolutely disgusting! After I had finished feeding him his breakfast of Sweet Potatoes and Rice Cereal I go into the kitchen to clean up. He was having a good 'ole time playing with some toys in his high chair so I didn't worry about him. Well all of a sudden he gets this really sad look on his face, he doesn't cry, but he just looks generally sad. So I go over to cheer him up [maybe he wanted a new toy?], and behold the stench of poo. I was shocked because usually he grunts, screams, and cries when he goes. Maybe it was just gas? So I pick him up to realize that there was a slight tint of green seeping through his back and onto the high chair. OH NO. He didn't just go poo, he had an explosion! It was so much that it had gone out the diaper onto his cute little outfit Katie had gotten him. I take him to his crib to change him and I come to realize that, that approach just wasn't going to work. Nuts... Have to do it in the bathroom so I can put him in the bath. At this point he was screaming bloody murder and wouldn't hold still. So he got it all over his crib and all over me at that point. So I start him a bath and get him in, which he then got poo all over the tub. Poor kid. He was so upset he fell asleep after that. Then he wasn't good at all for Chris's birthday party. He was so angry and upset the whole time. I felt so bad for him.

Accomplishments:
Sat - Nothing to report
Sun - My Mom bought him a new toy, its a Winnie The Pooh honey pot almost like a jack in the box, its so cute. You have to push this big button on the front to get Pooh Bear to pop out and with in oh ten minutes of Isaac playing with it he figured out how to make Pooh Pop out. He was literally punching the button, haha it was too cute.
Mon - Nothing to report
Tue - He fell asleep in his stroller! I couldn't believe it, I had gone on a walk at Marie Kerr Park with some newly found friends [who have babies around Isaac's age], there was excitement and so much to see and he sleeps! I mean I shouldn't sound so happy, except for the fact he never EVER sleeps ina situation like that. It was amazing, and shocking!
Wed - Nothing to report
Thu- Nothing to report
Fri - He finally had a good nights sleep. I was thankful for it and he seemed to be in a better mood when he woke up in the morning.

He seems to not be allergic to sweet potatoes! HURRAY! And he generally seems to like them. Next weeks food is Butternut Squash. :) Then the week after that Green Beans. I am debating on if I want to have him try some of the meats towards the middle of his fifth month. I won't start him on fruits until he's six months old though, because before that his digestive system isn't devolped enough. But I am sure he will love the fruits! :)

Week 18

Frustrations:
Still sleeping issues, but not over night, its getting to bed and of course the dreaded nap time. But there was a few nights that were frustrating, to where he kept getting up.
Accomplishments:
YUMMY YUMMY PEAS! He loves them more then carrots. It’s time to take away the rice cereal and try things without it. Next week Sweet potatoes!
His dirty diaper issue seems to be approving day by day, which makes me feel better, even though I can tell he hates doing the doody. Two times a day every other day, compared to what every 5 days. Yeah, much much better.
At 4 months old, he seems to be doing a lot better at entertaining himself. If I have things to do [like clean or eat] he can hang out in his crib, walker, or even his high chair and have a good old time. Of course, I am still hanging out with him a lot, he loves to sit on my lap and kick me and bounce. His leg muscles are getting so strong and he laughs so loud. Too cute.
One thing I do have to keep an eye out on is how much he likes to flirt. Was at the mall once this week and there was a girl his age there and he just giggled and smiled at her and tried talking to her. He’s going to be a heart breaker. Too cute!!! It’s just so funny at how happy he is when there’s other babies around. Me and Katie have been getting together and having Isaac and the little boy she babysits play together. It’s kind of hard right now because Isaac is so active and Kayleb is 2 months old and sleepy all the time. Once they get older, if he’s still around, I know they will be good friends! J

*Sorry for the shortness, it was a very busy and VERY stressful week, next week will be better, I promise!!!*

Here

are the old posts:
www.themommyblogzors.blogspot.com

starting fresh on here this week!

Moved

This is the new location for my Mommy hood blogs.
